Tomoe River S
This notebook is made with Tomoe River S, the highly acclaimed paper used in many of Japan’s most well-known planners.
Despite being thin enough to keep the notebook compact even with a large number of pages, it offers an exceptionally smooth writing experience with both ballpoint and fountain pens. It is also highly resistant to ink bleed-through, making it ideal for everyday writing.

One of the most important factors in selecting the paper was its ability to perform exceptionally well with writing instruments, especially its resistance to feathering and ink bleed-through when used with fountain pens.
Since everyone has their own preferred writing tools, choosing Tomoe River S, a paper trusted by fountain pen users around the world, is one of the details that reflects the care and attention put into this notebook.
ittōdachi edge
A relatively unknown term outside of Japan, ittōdachi is the Japanese bookbinder art of sizing pages in a single cut, without the use of extra trimming margins.
Despite its large capacity of 768 total pages, we achieved an ittōdachi edge for both the cover and inner pages; an especially challenging process to accomplish.
This creates a perfectly even edge across the entire notebook, giving the cut surface a clean, consistent, and satisfying finish.

The combination of the soft cover and precisely trimmed inner pages allows you to quickly flip through the notebook with just one hand.
With a high-capacity notebook like this, ease of page turning becomes especially important – whether you are looking back through past entries or searching for a specific page.
Our commitment to the one-cut trimming process was an essential detail that could not be compromised in order to achieve this smooth, effortless page-turning experience.

For the cover, we selected a soft material that is resistant to deterioration over time.
The simple black, leather-like cover has a stylish appearance that allows you to enjoy using it as-is, without the need for a jacket cover
665 blank pages
Of the notebook’s 768 total pages, space has been set aside for the monthly and weekly planning sections, while the remaining 665 pages are completely blank.
There are planners that provide one page per day, but some days you have a lot to write, while on other days you may not write anything at all. We believe that one of the keys to enjoying journaling over the long term is avoiding blank pages that make you think, “I didn’t write anything today, so I can’t use this page anymore. I’ll have to continue on the next one…”
Those 665 blank pages are the greatest feature of this notebook. Whether you skip a day or fill several pages in a single sitting, you can simply keep writing without ever worrying about matching your writing to a predetermined number of pages.

While many planners are designed around fixed layouts, one of the defining features of this notebook is its large collection of blank pages, allowing you to create your own format and use each page however you like.

While providing a dedicated space for each day, we also maximized the writing area by carefully designing the surrounding margins. We paid close attention to making the monthly layout practical and easy to use as a scheduling tool.
When the final week of the month results in a half-sized date box, an additional reserve space is provided.
weekly
The weekly schedule section is also designed with a simple, clean format. One of its greatest appeals is the freedom to customize it and adapt it to your own preferred way of writing.

Despite containing more than 700 pages, this notebook is only approximately 2.6 cm thick. Its A6 size (roughly the size of a postcard) makes it relatively easy to hold, even for those with smaller hands.

The notebook weighs approximately 323g.
By carefully selecting lightweight materials for both the paper and cover, we were able to keep its weight lighter than a can of beer.
our origin tale
● the story begins
I (the developer) started using planners around 2020–2021, a time when the Olympics were a major topic of conversation.
There was a famous stationery store near my workplace, and as I visited more and more often, I gradually became fascinated with planners…
At first, I did not have any particular preference for specific brands. But one day, I saw a beautifully decorated planner on social media, and from that moment, I became more and more immersed in the world of planners.
● my fixation
After I started using fountain pens, my interest naturally expanded to the paper itself, and that was when I discovered Tomoe River paper.
This paper has a unique quality – it allows you to write smoothly, almost as if the pen is gliding across the page, whether you use a fountain pen or a ballpoint pen. At the same time, it is exceptionally thin.
However, even planners using this paper often did not have the format I truly preferred, or they simply did not have enough pages. I always felt that something was still missing.
Then, by chance, our company announced an internal venture program. While talking about how I had never been able to find my ideal planner, someone asked me, “Then why not try making it yourself?”
And just like that, this became an official internal planner project!
I am truly grateful to our president for wholeheartedly supporting and approving this idea.
● in pursuit of freedom
This notebook was developed by bringing together everything I envisioned in my ideal planner.
There were also aspects that changed during the development process. The project members took prototype versions in hand, shared their opinions, and carefully refined every detail down to the smallest elements.
The greatest appeal of this notebook is that, with its large number of blank pages, you do not have to be restricted by a one-page-per-day format. Whether there are days when you do not write at all or days when you want to fill many pages, you can write naturally and without pressure.
To make this possible, choosing Tomoe River S -a thin paper with an exceptional writing feel- was absolutely essential.
Another major feature is that its simple appearance allows you to enjoy customizing it freely in your own style.
